If I can only do 2 or 3 chin ups,is that helping anything as far as building muscle mass?
I wait about another minute/min and a half to do another set of 2 or 3,about 2-4 more times.Is this beneficial ?
Yes, how you’re doing it is beneficial. A way you can improve what you’re doing is to add more sets so you’re getting more volume. For example, do 6 sets x 2 reps.
Another thing you could to do is to do as many pull ups as you can and then finish the set with lat pull downs, assisted pull ups or negative pull ups (slowly lowering yourself down), depending on what you have available. For example, in a set of 12 you may be able do 3 pull ups so you would then finish the set with 9 lat pull downs.
